V-Ray for SketchUp - Features | Chaos Group

Vray for SketchUp 2.0 is now available.  If you are a SketchUp user, this plugin is an absolute MUST.  I am still an advocate of using 3ds Max to do your modelling, but if you insist on using SketchUp, Vray will take your models to the next level.  In my opinion, it is the best rendering package available, especially for arch viz.  Here are the details on the release, plus some nice tutorials going over new features.  Probably the most important feature is the addition of Vray proxies, which makes SketchUp's ability to handle large, complex scenes much better.  Check it out.

Vray for SketchUP...How's it going?

We have seen a few actual renderings by users attempting to use Vray with SketchUp. This link here is to a fellow blogger who has tried it out. The settings are obviously not right on for this rendering, but it is encouraging to see a familiar Vray look coming out of a SketchUp model. I'm sure there are many great images coming soon. The good news...IT WORKS! Vray for SketchUp works.

Vray For SketchUP

We posted this story before, but there has been an increase in interest in it so we are giving you the link again. It's true, there is a plugin out there for Sketchup that allows you to use it with Vray. It is important that you act on this quickly, because until Dec. 31st it is $499. After that it goes up $300. As many of you know, google sketchup is an extremely simple modeling tool, and Vray is a professional quality GI renderer with full photorealisitc rendering capabilities. Together, they can be very fast, yet powerful at the same time.

Asgvis is the third party that makes the plugin software. Good news, they also make a plugin for Rhino. There is also a few basic Vray tutorials on their site.
